Advocacy, Policy, research and campaigns
This is a very exciting year for KCH; it’s a year we are making 40 years of dedication to providing the disabled community with quality, affordable and sustainable services with focused attention to children with disabilities and their families. As we mark 40 of existence, we are carrying out an awareness campaign through music concerts as a way of engaging policy makers, private sector and stakeholders to appreciate childhood disability.
We are also making child to child voices count by engaging CWDs in child to child campaign where children with disabilities engage their peers in schools and communities. These children also lobby for inclusive education, inclusion of CWDs in society and raise awareness about childhood disability. Engaging children in child to child campaign has enabled them to interact with their peers, share information and experiences hence building on their confidence and self esteem. This activity also has direct impacts to the children because it helps them to cope with various disability challenges that they may be facing.
